Circular Walk West Haddon

The rambling group had an enjoyable walk around West Haddon. It was between the heatwaves so was not too hot.

We walked through beautiful golden cornfields that looked almost ready for harvest. We saw a fox watching us from the hedgerow, there were lots of sheep still with their lambs and cows with their calves.

We came across a small lake with two black swans swimming on it, some geese and a duck with lots of ducklings. Further on we saw horses and a couple of alpacas.

Our route back took us through a strange underpass which looked like corrugated iron painted white.

We returned to The Pytchley Inn for lunch, meeting up with the strollers. Twenty Eight of us sat down for a very welcome lunch. We thanked Peter for a really pleasant walk.                                                                                                  Joan Edney

No rain, no wind, not too hot, not too cold, just the perfect weather for an amble around West Haddon by the Strollers Group. At least twelve of us met at the Pytchley Inn where most of us joined the Walkers Group for lunch afterwards.

Thanks to the directions scribbled down for us by a member of staff, we enjoyed a very pleasant walk around the village, discovering areas that none of us had seen before. Part of our route led us through a playpark where Vanessa couldn’t resist a shot on the swing!                                                                                               Janet Womack
